The Script’s Danny O’Donoghue calls out a fan’s ex-girlfriend on stage at a concert in Dublin
The Script’s Danny O’Donoghue picked up a fan’s phone during their 3Arena gig and called his ex-girlfriend last night.
The frontman, accompanied by guitarist Mark Sheehan and drummer Glen Power, sat in the crowd and sang along to their admirers last night.
Danny then took to the crowd to ask if anyone near him had an ex, and said the first person to call them and hand them the phone would get the song dedicated to the person who broke their heart.

A man handed the former Voice UK judge his phone, which was calling his ex-girlfriend.
She answered and Danny said, “Hello Ems. It’s Danny from the Script. We’re in 3Arena right now and a few thousand people want to say hello.
“I’ll give you back to your boyfriend, well, your ex-boyfriend, he’s a fucking ex now.
“Hold this now and we’ll sing her a song, this song is called Nothing.”
The song is told from the perspective of a man who drinks heavily after his girlfriend breaks up with him.
He calls her and tells her how he feels, but the girl doesn’t answer.
Performing this song to an ex of an audience member is a ritual for the band, with many other fans having the opportunity at previous gigs.
The guys are currently performing their comeback performances at 3Arena on June 14, 15 and 16.
Their tour honors everything the trio – Danny O’Donoghue, Glen Power and Mark Sheehan – have achieved together since 2007.
Their latest album: “The ‘Tales From The Script’ album is a stepping stone to our next chapter, but it’s also our story so far,” according to Danny and they’re “so excited to take it on the road . I know I’m gonna lose him on stage, night after night.
They are celebrating a journey that has included six Irish number one albums, five UK number one albums, six billion streams and over two million ticket sales with a Greatest Hits Tour.
They had iconic hits like “Hall of Fame” (featuring Will.i.am) and Top 10 hits “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved”, “For The First Time” and “Superheroes”.
Their signature music also includes “Breakeven”, their first single “We Cry” and “Rain”.
