SiriusXM has announced “Grown Folk JAMZ” as the latest channel to join the suite of programs as part of its “Project Amplify” initiative. The station is now available on SiriusXM channel 362. Project Amplify is a SiriusXM effort to promote diverse viewpoints on SiriusXM’s Music and Talk channels.

“Grown Folk JAMZ” features musical hits from R&B, Gospel, Old School, Hip-Hop, Smooth Jazz, Funk, Classic Soul and Love Ballads. The format was originally conceived by DR JAMZ, the Operations Manager of Grown Folk JAMZ. Longtime terrestrial radio program manager and host Todd “TO” Reynolds, as well as online radio program manager Grown Folk JAMZ, will serve as program manager for his SiriusXM channel. Urban Radio Group CEO Al Twitty will continue to provide footage.

“Grown Folk JAMZ” was developed as an online format in 2010 and was available on terrestrial radio from 2014 to 2017. It is part of Panache Companies LLC, a new entrant in the media industry, 100% owned by African Americans, including a majority of women.

“We are proud to extend this format to the SiriusXM platform and look forward to serving our audience in the best possible way,” said Denise Sherman, majority owner of Panache. “Grown Folk JAMZ is a timeless blend of music that our listeners have enjoyed for most of their lives. As an African-American, majority female-owned platform, we are thrilled to provide support for an underrepresented audience and to reach an even wider audience through our relationship with SiriusXM.”
