New York Mets ticket policies for affected games

As Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association continue to negotiate a new collective bargaining agreement, MLB has informed clubs that it is no longer possible to play regular season games originally scheduled for March 31 through March 5. April 2022. As a result, The Mets Opening Day originally scheduled for March 31 has been postponed and our April 2-5 homestand has been cancelled.

Like you, we are disappointed not to be able to start our season as planned and regret any inconvenience this causes you. MLB is working to get the game back on the field as quickly as possible.

While we don’t have any further information about the start of the season, we would like to share the following information regarding your tickets for Opening Day and the April 2-5 games against the Nationals and Braves.

2022 Mets Opening Day

Fans holding tickets to the Mets Opening Day originally scheduled for Thursday, March 31 at Citi Field can use their tickets to gain admission to the home game opener of the 2022 regular season at Citi Field after the delay.

Date to be determined Opening day postponed: Tickets previously distributed for the game that becomes the Mets’ first home game of the 2022 regular season cannot be used for admission and will be treated under this policy as if that game were impacted. Details, including the rescheduled date and time of the Mets’ opening day, will be released at a later date.

Games impacted – April 2 – 5, 2022

At this time, the following Mets 2022 regular season home games are considered affected and the ticket information below is for those games. All ticket management actions for the affected games, including the transfer of tickets, will be cancelled. These tickets will be removed from your account and will no longer be valid for admission.

2022 Mets season ticket holders (including partial package holders)

Mets 2022 season ticket holders (including partial package holders) with tickets for affected games originally scheduled for April 2-5 will receive credit for all payments made for those games in their season ticket package 2022. Credit is valid for the following:

  • Group and individual tickets to 2022 or 2023 regular season home games at Citi Field, subject to availability (blackout dates may apply)
  • 2023 Season Ticket Package

Accounts wishing to receive a refund instead of a credit for tickets for the affected games originally scheduled for April 2-5 can submit a request online through their My Meals Tickets account from Thursday, March 3 at 10 a.m. Refund requests for affected games can be submitted until October 31, 2022.

2022 group ticket buyers

Group ticket purchasers for all affected games originally scheduled for April 2-5 will receive credit for all payments made for those games. The credit is valid for the following items:

  • Tickets to 2022 or 2023 regular season home games at Citi Field, subject to availability (blackout dates may apply)

A Mets sales representative will contact the group leaders to book their outing for another 2022 regular season home game, subject to availability.

Accounts wishing to receive a refund instead of a credit for tickets for the affected games originally scheduled for April 2-5 can submit a request online through their My Meals Tickets account from Thursday, March 3 at 10 a.m. Refund requests for affected games can be submitted until October 31, 2022.

2022 single game tickets purchased through Mets.com or 718-507-TIXX

Fans who purchased single-game tickets through Mets.com or 718-507-TIXX for all affected games originally scheduled for April 2-5 will receive credit for all payments made for those games. The credit is valid for the following items:

  • Tickets to 2022 or 2023 regular season home games at Citi Field, subject to availability (blackout dates may apply)

Accounts wishing to receive a refund instead of a credit for tickets for the affected games originally scheduled for April 2-5 can submit a request online through their My Meals Tickets account from Thursday, March 3 at 10 a.m. Refund requests for affected games can be submitted until October 31, 2022.

2022 Free Ticket Holders

At this time, we have suspended all free ticket voucher redemptions for the 2022 season. Whether we are able to resume free ticket voucher redemption for the 2022 season, information will be provided at a later date.

If we are unable to honor free ticket vouchers for the 2022 season, vouchers will be eligible for select 2023 regular season home games at Citi Field, subject to availability (some exclusions will apply).

All other free tickets and those marked “NO RAINCHECK” have no value and are not eligible for credit or exchange.

Tickets are subject to availability and ticketing policies established by the New York Mets.

Fans with paid individual or group tickets for the affected games who are looking to use the 2023 regular season home game credit can begin applying their credit when the 2023 tickets go on sale. A date for the sale of 2023 tickets will be announced at a later date.

Availability and use of tickets at Citi Field are subject to all applicable laws, regulations and guidelines, including those relating to COVID-19 and health and safety.

Those who purchased tickets from another party, in addition to the Mets, should contact that party directly to determine their policies.

Ticketing policies are subject to review, and if circumstances or policies change further, the Mets will provide further information at that time.
