There are many examples of movies that don’t do very well at the box office but garner rave reviews. Konda Polam fits perfectly into this category of films. The film was released on the occasion of Dussehra (October 8) last year. Although the film could not earn much at the box office, it still managed to create a buzz after its television release.

The film aired on Star Maa and garnered 12.34 TRPs in urban areas and 10.54 ratings in rural and urban areas combined. These are quite high TRP numbers for a Telugu film. The film managed to get these high TRPs despite already being available on Amazon Prime.

Konda Polam tells the story of shepherds living in the Nallamala forest. These shepherds must protect their sheep from the ferocious attacks of the predators and red sanders that live there. Panja Vaisshnav Tej, Rakul Preet Singh and Mahesh Achanta played the main roles in this movie. Konda Polam was directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi. Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi also wrote the screenplay for the film. The film is based on the novel of the same name written by Venkatramireddy Sannapureddy.

Work-wise, Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi is currently working on the script for the upcoming Telugu action drama Hari Hara Veera Mallu. He is known for movies like Kanche, Vedam and Gamyam. He won the Filmfare award in the Best Director category for his film Vedam.

Panja Vaisshnav Tej is currently working on an untitled film by filmmaker Gireesaaya.

On the other hand, Rakulpreet will next be seen on the screens with Indian 2 and Production 41. Both films are in the post-production phase. She also tours for Thank God, Mayday and Attack. The diva will also star in Chhatriwali, Ayalaan, Doctor G and Oh My Ghost.
