Members of the Altoona Women’s Club will attend the Curve baseball game as a group on July 14.

Game time is 6.30 p.m.

The club will pay tribute to their late friend and member Jean Lane and all the hours she devoted to making their fundraising success at The Curve.

Jean died on February 4.

Jean was the obvious choice to lead the volunteer work at the Curve dining venues for the benefit of the club.

She was a huge Altoona Curve and Pittsburgh Pirates baseball fan.

Each year she and her husband Jim have attended Spring Training in Florida for over 20 years. Jean had hundreds of autographs in his collection, including baseballs, baseball cards, and photos.

Jean didn’t limit his club activities to 10 years of fundraising at The Curve.

For many years she was a session secretary.

She has been involved in other club projects, such as hosting a Thanksgiving dinner at Sister Paula’s Food for Families restaurant, the club’s Salvation Army Christmas fundraiser, and other fundraising projects.

Joan Camberg and Jean Lane have worked together for over 50 years in teacher organizations, as Girl Scout leaders, as well as members of the Altoona Women’s Club.

Jeanne said, “No matter the circumstances, Jean has always had a positive attitude. She was pleasant and kind to everyone.

The Altoona Women’s Club has lost a dear friend and member. Baseball has lost a big fan.

All members of the women’s club, families and friends are welcome to attend the game with the club.

Tickets cost $ 11 per person and can be purchased from the club.

Checks for the number of match tickets, made payable to the Women’s Club of Altoona, should be mailed to the Women’s Club of Altoona, PO Box 254, Altoona PA 16603 by July 1.

In addition, club members are requested to send an email response to President Jennifer Cacciotti so that the appropriate number of tickets can be reserved.
