Chiranjeevi finally opens up on Acharya debacle, says audiences will return to theaters because ‘content is key’

When we say megastar, we instantly think of Tollywood hero, Chiranjeevi. Kondiela Siva Sankara Vara Prasad has become a household name with hit movies including Shubhaleha, Vijetha, Muta Mesthri, Indra, Shankar Dada MBBS. The superstar was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2006 as well as the Special Award – South for Honorary Legendary Acting Career in the same year.

But things haven’t been so good for the megastar as his latest release received a boost at the box office as well as from fans. Chiranjeevi was last seen in Acharya which was produced by his son Ram Charan and the film was a hit at the box office and also received a boost from moviegoers.

The actor finally opened up about it and opened up about the failure of Acharya. Chiranjeevi arrived at the First Day First Show event and talked about the content of the cinema. Chiranjeevi also dismissed the concept that people don’t go to the cinema and they have lost interest in watching a movie on the big screen.

Reacting to the same, he said, “Content matters. People flock to theaters if we provide the right content. Proof: Bimbisara, Sita Ramam & Karthikeya2. Films with poor scripts are rejected on the 2nd day . I’m one of the victims recently.”

Chiranjeevi will next be seen in Godfatherthe official Telugu remake of the hit Malayalam film Lucifer with Mohanlal. The film also sees Salman Khan in a special appearance.
