Chelsea’s new away kit has ‘leaked’ online and fans think it’s a ‘monstrosity’
Chelsea fans have been shocked after leaked images of the kit away from next season appeared online.
The Blues are currently locked into a long-term manufacturing deal with sports giants Nike. Chelsea signed a staggering 15-year deal with the American company in 2016 in a deal that is expected to net Londoners around £ 60million per season.
But that mega-deal hasn’t stopped Blues fans from expressing their anger online on several occasions over the past two seasons.
And fans are angry again after seeing Nike’s latest offering for the 2022/23 season.
The kit on the outside, which was revealed by the kit’s news site Football titles, is predominantly white with striking teal hoops and a subtle navy blue border.
But the bold new design didn’t go well to Stamford Bridge devotees – who were also exasperated just two years ago by a red and blue themed third shirt.
And a number of Blues fans have already gone wild online.
One fan called the kit a “Monstrosity!” while another said: “Definitely not ******. I hope we never go with Nike again at this point.”

Other fans took the opportunity to call on Chelsea to end their lavish deal with Nike after seeing the design. One fan tweeted: “Nike doesn’t even pretend to try with our kits anymore. Bring back Adidas.”
Although Chelsea fans have been unhappy off the pitch, things have generally been more positive this season.
Blues boss Thomas Tuchel has firmly engaged Londoners in the Premier League title race after leading the Stamford Bridge side to an unexpected Champions League triumph in May.

But the German has come under pressure himself in recent weeks after overseeing a scorching form.
Sunday’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa temporarily halted the rot and Tuchel’s men have a chance to build on that result when they host Brighton on Wednesday night.
The European champions were boosted by the return of club record signing Romelu Lukaku; who found the net against Villa this weekend after being sidelined.
