Celebs Go Dating: Marty McKenna slammed for saying ‘bird’

Marty McKenna has sparked outrage among Celebs Go Dating fans after he used sexist and misogynistic terms to describe women.

The 27-year-old Geordie Shore star previously explained he signed up for the hit reality show because he had never been able to land a real date himself – but fans might now understand why.

He left show dating experts Anna Williamson, 40, and Love Doctor Paul C Brunson, 47, stunned when he called the women ‘birds’ and ‘pigs’.

While viewers were also appalled at his choice of words to describe women as he sat down to chat with the experts about his dating history and ambitions.

Featured on Wednesday night’s episode of the E4 show, Marty opened up about his dating experience, saying, “I’m at the stage now where I’m still in a loose rut.

“I’m going to be honest with you, I’m not going to come here and go on a first date with a bird and say ‘you want to be me bird?'”.

A puzzled Paul, from the US, asked what a ‘bird’ is – with Marty all too happy to give his definition as follows: “A girl, yes that’s what we call girls in Newcastle. “

Romance experts then suggested that such a description of a woman could be considered insulting – which was new for Marty.

Seeming unimpressed, Anna then slammed the MTV star for her sexist comments.

She said, “That’s kind of a gutter… You can’t call women pigs.”

And it wasn’t just romance experts who were appalled by Marty’s comments – as viewers took to Twitter to slam the Geordie Shore star.

One suggested his comments were grounds for immediate elimination from the show, tweeting: “Why would they go on with Marty who just showed what a disgusting human he is? Why would you place him with someone’s daughter #CelebsGoDating”

Another swipe at the star, tweeting: ‘Jokes can be funny and cute but some of the things Marty is dating are so gross.’

Another wrote: “Cancel that t**t Marty, I’ve never heard of him and his attitude just makes me want to stop watching this #CelebsGoDating show.”
